Decision to join HubPages

I was just muddling along, checking my blog stats on a blog aggregator in South Africa, myScoop, when I noticed a blog title by another member of myScoop.

The blog post was something about earning an extra income from writing.  Now, I do this already, just a little, from writing blog posts for my blogs, or articles for my own sites.  I also sometimes write a few articles or bookmarks on Xomba.  As I have a Google Adsense account, I earn a little from these published articles when people click on the Google Adsense ads displayed on the pages.

I've earned a little bit of money out of writing articles for people on the freelance site oDesk too, but that's about it.

I had seen HubPages mentioned here and there, but never did anything about it, until today.

How did I get here?

Let's get back to the blog post title I saw on myScoop:

The blog post was talking about a site called Constant Content, and, because I wanted to learn more about other sites that paid for articles, I googled Constant Content.  Google gave me many results, and the first one I chose to go to was a site called WritingHood.

On WritingHood I noticed several references to a site called Triond. Triond is also an Adsense Revenue Sharing site, like Xomba and HubPages.  I joined Triond three days ago and have submitted over 5 articles there, to allow my Adsense ads to now appear on my pages on Triond.

I've been on Google a lot in the last three days, looking for advice on how best to earn an extra income from Adsense revenue sharing sites.  I have read a great deal of interesting articles, but one that really blew me away was one right here on HubPages, by ryankett.

The title of the article is My HubPages Adsense and Amazon Earnings Disclosed.

Thinking that the article was amazing, honest, and inspiring, I left a comment (today), and said I would be joining HubPages.

So, here I am!
