Is there anyone who did not enjoy the movie Inception?
65The movie Inception blew me away
I was very surprised to recently find an article online where the author went into quite a bit of detail about why she did not enjoy the movie Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and directed by Christopher Nolan.
Tony and I watched it on dvd just a few days ago.
For the first 15 minutes or so, every now and again, Tony and I took a few seconds to look at each other and go "What?"
Then, we got sucked in. Pulled into the various levels of dreams, some so deep we wondered if we'd ever really return to our two seats in our tiny little home office where we watched Inception on one of our computers. Did we even want to come back to reality? Maybe we wanted to stay down there, in one of the deeper levels of dreams, where a hired dream architect could conjure up what we wanted to see, or even what we should be avoiding, but needed to confront to get back to reality.
On a visit to the movie theatre a few months ago, we'd seen a poster advertising Inception. We stood and looked it. For perhaps 5 seconds. And we went on our way.
Inception "jumped out at us" recently, when we visited the DVD rental store. We took it out.
We had not seen a trailer, had not read any reviews about it, and knew basically nothing about it, other than the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio was in, and that we'd enjoyed his acting in Blood Diamond and Shutter Island.
It was only a day or two after watching Inception that we Googled "Inception ending explained," hoping for some insight into what others were thinking about the movie, and about the ending. What did the end of the movie Inception mean?
Well, the Internet is full of various meanings for the ending of Inception and we don't feel that the ending has yet been fully explained, but, at the same time, we feel that perhaps that is exactly what Christopher Nolan wanted. To leave people wondering. And to have people remember Inception because of it. To tell other people to watch Inception. To have people watch it again and again.
Maybe Inception is not for everyone
I understand that not everyone may enjoy Inception, and I have accepted that some people won't. I think it was good for me to see an article about why somebody didn't enjoy Inception, even if I don't fully understand or agree with her reasons. I still enjoyed it, and feel most people would.
I more than enjoyed Inception. To me, it's a brilliant movie.
If you haven't yet seen Inception, just watch it and enjoy it
When you watch it the second time, you can look for clues throughout the movie that may help you understand it better, and help you understand if the ending means Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio's character) is back in reality or not.
Personally I'm left wondering who is actually doing the incepting and who is doing the dreaming. And I kind of love not really knowing. I play it all through my mind, taking me right back into what I truly feel is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Or maybe I'm just dreaming I saw the movie?
Does it even exist?

I loved Inception but I didn't understand the ending either but that didn't make me love it any less :)
Having seen the movie, and having given it some serious thought i have only one question. No observations, and no theories.
The Question? Whose Dream are we all sharing?
Can't say I disliked it at all.
The film was one where the audience are required to pay attention or all is lost.
Perhaps that's why the person concerned didn't enjoy it.
I liked the philosophical side of it. I found the fight scenes repetitive and tedious though. I guess I thought it was a great film based on a very interesting idea, but too long. But it was action movie bits that dragged for me!
Great write up Teresa I love the movie inception. I am a huge fan of Leos movies. My favorite of his is Shutter Island. He is the best actor I enjoy watching him.

I thought it was a great idea, superbly acted and look amazing on the screen. If I had one criticism it would be that the layers of dreams and characters occupying different dream levels at the same time gets so complicated towards the end of the movie the studio should give you two admissions for one to fully understand it!!! Only seen it once and I think I will probably get more from it second time round.
