Who is driving my HubPages traffic?
70HubPages traffic stats
I guess I'm a bit of a stats freak. I like to frequently check stats to learn various things. Things like where my HubPages hubs traffic is coming from.
I seriously wish I had more time to work with these HubPages stats (and other stats I check related to my own sites.) It's fun, and can be profitable.
I'm aware that I should not check traffic stats and other stats too often, and just get on with writing and other work, but, at times, it's useful to work with stats at improving traffic, or to improve whatever else the stats represent, here on HubPages, or elsewhere, like on your own sites, or for sites of clients if you're doing web research work, web design, web content writing, or SEO work for clients.
What are my current HubPages traffic stats?
I've been on HubPages about 6 months now, and have really not devoted as much time to HubPages as I would like to, so I don't really expect my HubPages traffic stats to be all that great. I'm satisfied enough, though, for now.
My 36 hubs (this is the 37th) have had a little over 5 200 views in about 6 months. I have a few of my own sites, and the oldest (about 2 and a half years) and most visited one is currently receiving nearly 600 unique visitors a day (that results in quite a few pageviews) so, with HubPages, I still have a long way to go.
When I first started at HubPages, my traffic from other hubbers was much higher than my traffic from anywhere else, and this was fine, for starters, but I was after more traffic from search engines like Google, and links from other sites, especially sites that are busy and/or have pageranks of at least 3, preferably also with related content, and that allow do follow links.
My HubPages traffic from other hubbers is still in the lead, but I'm pleased that the gap between it and the second driving force behind my HubPages traffic is getting smaller.
Of my just over 5 200 pageviews,
1 446 are from other hubbers,
and 1 078 are from Google.com
That leaves about 2 676 pageviews coming from other sources of traffic. What are these traffic sources?

Sources of HubPages traffic I can improve
(and should try find the time to!)
I know I need to make more effort with improving my HubPages traffic with bookmarking sites and social sites, but gosh, it takes a lot of time, hey? (Marketing one's hubs, articles, sites in general.)
I enjoy linking to my hubs from my own sites. If I really wanted to go to town I could create blogs and sites (free or not) around specific niches, then link to my hubs from them (each niche linking to only my niche-related hubs on HubPages.) But those sites, in turn, would need to be marketed too, or SEO'd, or both. What would be great, though, about linking to my hubs from my own sites, especially if they had a pagerank of 3 or higher, is that I would not have to find related topic sites that have high page ranks, or check that they allow do follow links, as I could just ensure my own sites allowed do follow links.
I can also work more on improving the SEO (search engine optimization) of my hubs - use the Google Keywords Tool more often to see which keywords in my exisitng hubs have a high search volume, and then improve those hubs to include perhaps more of those words, and also synonyms of them. I could also write more articles (hubs) based on which words in my exisitng hubs have a high monthly search volume, writing similar topics, and also "sub category" topics eg, not just How To Do Long Jump, but also How to To Long Jump on a Windy Day, How To Do Long Jump in Primary School, How To Do Long Jump at an interschool's competition.
Reading what others say about improving traffic to any site or article or hub has also helped me a ton, and I'm always happy to read more about improving traffic, when I have the time! Why can't there be 48 hours in a day, and we only need to sleep about 4 hours in that 48 hour period? Oh well, there isn't, and we all just do the best that we can. Keep it up!

Teresa, Happy to see you on here again. I have the same problem as you do. I have several sites and think of more work that needs to be finished, but you can do just so much.
Teresa, again a very well written hub! Obviously you need more traffic to your hubpages as for as i think. I also think bookmarking on social sites is a tedious job but why hot hire someone to do this for you? I think it is not a bad idea if you can!
Well I still do not right for pay but most of my traffic is from hubpages, I am getting an average now of 2 to 4 new followers a day from face book and twitter who may be hub too, next week I for sure will have my 1st site up and i have no idea of nothing, I just write write write, but now I will have to see what next.
write, lol, you swallowed my post before I could correct it...been a long day, I write almost all day and def all night. I can't wait to have a nice hard day cleaning house, lol
I also check my traffic on hubpages. They come from various sources. But the most important thing is how to create useful hub for readers. I believe this brought good traffic for us. Thanks for writing this. Vote up. Take care!

I really need to do some more work on my backlinking but it's early days for me still so I won't panic.xxx
Its up, let me know what you think and book just a day or two to go out, wish I felt enthusiastic, lol. I think I am going to look around for some other places online, I didn't like ABC at all. Have missed you not making me smarter.

Very interesting, Teresa. I too check the stats too often! lol I am at an earlier stage than you. I have a HubPages and a personal blogger, I am about to launch a niche blog/website and have ideas for another after that. The plan is to link them all altogether. I enjoy your hubs. You have a clear writing style and know what you're talking about (not sure if I can say that for everyone I've read on here! hehe!)
I put It in Is this fair. I feel like I am being picked on really I have wasted two days on a simple cute little hub, none makes any sense, they are even removing my quedtions to people about it and the read is going up on it with is not up??? There is nothing wrong and if it was it sure isn't now.
Oh I was gonna ask you about lulu, I will look over your stuff later see if you have anything about it, I dont think I like them able to do as they please with it and can't find out how long I have to leave it with them. I think I am going to start my own place that is fair to everyone.
@Teresa. Yes, I've got time and am dedicated (obsessed? hehe!) I didn't see Twitter on your list? I've found it's good for hits, and also for getting links into Google rankings. It takes a bit of maintenance though (unlike stumbleupon where you just click a button!).
